On Sunday, November 3rd, Barbara Brennessel led a group on a walk around Gull Pond, where they observed several schools of Herring fry making their way between Gull and Higgins Ponds. Along the way, the group was fortunate to run into Wellfleet Herring Warden Dr. Ethan Estey, who was raking out leaves to create a pathway for the herring in anticipation of rain this week and showed the group a closeup of a previously desceased Herring fry. Barbara plans to lead a walk in the Spring when the mature River Herring return to the ponds to spawn.
